The Straight Path

Allimou Anni
Teachings of Mawlana Sidi Fakhreddin
"Guide us to the straight path" (Al-Fatiha)
Mawlana:
Allah said, "Surely you will be questioned that day on the Favors" (al-Takathur).
What favors is this verse about? It is about all the favors that Allah has bestowed
upon us. Allah tells us: "I have granted you the double favor of having 1) created you
and 2) be watching over you. What did you do with these favors? I gave you an eye
and how did you use it? The ear, how did you use it? In fact, it is impossible to
properly thank Allah for all His blessings. That said, Allah has for us all, for the sake
of the Prophet SAWS, opened a path that he called "The straight path".
We recite during salat: "Guide us to the straight path". But do we really know what
this sentence means? If you were to ask the vast majority of Muslims, they will
answer you: "It is a bridge set over Hell". In fact it is not at all that!
First or all, you should know that the bridge over hell is not straight. It is triangular
in shape
What is the straight path then? Sayyidina Souhaiyb, sayyidina Bilal and Sayyidina
Salman once went to see the Prophet PBUH. Sayyidina Souhaiyb said crying, "O
Prophet, I remembered the afterlife. If I went to Heaven, you will be up and I will be
down and we will be separated and I cannot endure this separation. And if I do not
go to Heaven at all, my disaster will be even more terrible." Sayyidina Salman then
spoke and then another and another and in total they were fifteen to repeat
Sayyidina Suhaiyb’s words.
Then, the Prophet PBUH sat down and at that moment the following verse arrived:
"Whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger ... those will be with those whom Allah has
showered with His blessings: the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the
virtuous. And what good companions are these "(An-Nisa: 69). This is the straight
path mentioned in Al Fatiha. It is also the path towards Allah, the way of the Sufis, of
those who eremember Allah.

Hizb of the Sword

Hizb of the Sword About this Hizb, Sidi Fakhr al-Din (RA) said: "This is the highest praise of God there is." He mentioned that this invocation (Hizb) belonged to the Prophet (SAW), who  entrusted it to Imam Ali (S). He said in essence that the Messenger of God (SAW) dictated the Hizb to Imam Ali (KAW), who wrote with his own hand. When our master, Ali (SA) retired  (for the night,) a king of the jinn introduced himself secretly and grabbed Imam Ali’s copy .... Why did he do this? The answer can be found in the same circumstances that led the Prophet (PBUH) to teach this hizb to Imam Ali. The Prophet ordered the latter to fight the jinn at the  well of Alamayn. The case was so serious in the eyes of the Prophet (SAW) that he asked the angel Gabriel to bring him the Hizb of the Sword (al-Hizb al Saifi). After receiving it, he taught it to Imam Ali. He named the Hizb, “Hizb Yamani”, i.e. the Hizb that is like a shield that we hold in our rig...
